KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 18th 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Well, what an amazing week we have had with all kinds of exciting things happening! We had a lot of fun lining up when the school fire alarm went off and this happened straight after the ambulance had arrived to take Charlie Ward off to hospital following an accident in the playground.

Charlie is doing really well and will be back in school very shortly……the place is not the same without him! I must say that all the children were excellent during the fire alarm and knew exactly what to do and where to go.

Anyone who has read Hamlet will remember the character Ophelia…..well, the Ophelia Ireland experienced during the last few days is nothing like Shakespeare’s character!! Plenty of wild and stormy weather, with lots of trees knocked down throughout the country…….thankfully, our wonderful little school did not experience any damage. It was all very exciting considering that Ireland had experienced nothing like it for at least 50 years!! But please…..NO MORE !!! 🙂

For the children preparing for their First Holy Communion, Sunday October 22nd will be when the next Mass on their journey will take place. As usual it will be held in Kilmacanogue Parish Church at 10am and I look forward to seeing you all there.

Parents who have or know of anyone who has a child starting in our school next September 2018, please make sure that the names of the children are enrolled. Please phone the school office to check this out.

Reminder that the mid-term break takes place next week from Friday October 27th to Monday November 6th. Where is the time going…..can anyone tell me please??!

I’ll sign off for now, but as usual be assured of my support and commitment to you all.

Niamh Murray  (Principal)
