Imagine, it is already Halloween! Can you believe it?
I won’t mention any other holiday but……it’s fast approaching, I can almost hear the sleigh bells!!
There has been tremendous work done these past few weeks throughout the various classes and as parents and guardians you should all be every proud of your wonderful children, because I certainly am. Well done, boys and girls.
Funday Friday will be a special day with every one dressing up in a costume for Halloween and bringing in €2. I hope that I won’t be too scared especially if I see ghosts or witches running around the school!!
We are looking forward to the performance of the Halloween Play/Musical which Ms Redmond and Ms Montgomery have been preparing with 6th class. All the children are in for a special treat.
The cake sale will start at 10am and the parish hall will be open from 9am for anyone bringing in cakes for the sale. Please remember that some children have serious nut allergies…..NO NUTS IN CAKES PLEASE.
There have been some wonderful activities taking place in the school during the last number of weeks including: Yoga/Mindfulness Classes, GAA Activities, Art Classes, Mathletics 4 Schools. You should see the amazing Halloween Art work that has been done by the children…..I am sure that we could make a fortune if we sold them!! Salvador Dali or Pablo Picasso would feel very threatened!!
A gentle reminder to all parents to return the insurance form along with the €6 as soon as possible. I really do advise everyone to avail of this 24 hour cover for each child…..children will be children and accidents do happen!
It was with great sadness that we learned of the sudden death of John Donnelly RIP, the father of Fiona Power, our friend and colleague here in Kilmacanogue National School. Our thoughts and prayers are with Fiona and her family at this very sad time.

School will close at 12 noon on Thursday to accommodate the very large number of people expected to attend John’s funeral which will take place at 1pm in Kilmacanogue Parish Church.
The school will be closed for the mid-term break from Monday October 30th to Friday November 3rd inclusive.
Have a wonderful holiday everyone and look after one another and remember, ‘If it’s not nice don’t do it and if it’s not nice don’t say it!’
