WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER MARCH 7th 2018
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Oh my goodness…..what an amazing experience the whole country had the last week or so with Storm Emma and all that wonderful snow!! I am very glad that Mr Snowman has started to thaw though! Thank you so much for your support and understanding regarding the school closure, there was no alternative for health and safety reasons. The school will remain open, please God, until our next break for St Patrick’s Day which will be Monday 19th, because the 17th occurs on a Saturday. We will not therefore be closed this coming Friday as previously mentioned.
I personally want to say a huge thank you to Kevin Coleman, our fabulous caretaker, as well as to Colm Griffith, Dinny Flynn, Jason Minto, Judy 0’Toole, Darren Redmond and Robert Moore for all their enormous work in clearing away the snow throughout the last number of days.
We are so looking forward to tomorrow evening, Thursday 8th, when the young ladies and gentlemen from 6th Class will be celebrating their Service of Light at 7.30pm in preparation for their Confirmation, Friday 16th March at 11am. Ms Redmond and Ms Montgomery have done trojan work throughout the year with their class. The young people of 6th Class are a real credit to them and to each and everyone of you parents/guardians, you can be so very proud of them as we all are in Kilmacanogue National School.
Second Class will be making their First Confession, also called Ceremony of Reconciliation on March 22nd at 7.30pm, so March is a very busy month in the midst of Lent. I am very pleased at how many children are celebrating these days of Lent as they prepare for Easter. Many children have given up sweets and chocolate and crisps as well as doing lots of extra jobs at home helping out!! Keep up the good work, you are brilliant children.
More rugby to look forward to this coming weekend with Ireland due to play Scotland…..what do you think, have we a chance???…..the dream lives on! BEST OF LUCK IRELAND.
Mega congratulations to Ms Ann-Marie Bourke who gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby girl, a little sister for Beatrice. We are so happy for them and wish them every joy and happiness.
And now for Miss Murray’s joke…….
