WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER APRIL 11TH 2018
Dear Parents and Guardians, 
Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter break and that the Easter bunny brought you lots of Easter eggs! It is very hard to believe but there are only about eleven weeks left in this third term before our summer holidays! It was lovely to see the daffodils and the blue skies greeting us as we made our way to school these past few days, even if the rain is still trying to catch us out.
Congratulations to Evan Wylie from 5th Class who won a medal at the Irish Leinster Indoor Archery Championships. Well done Evan, you are great. I wonder could we start this sport in Kilmacanogue National School?
The teachers and children were delighted to find that new blinds had been fitted throughout the school over the Easter holidays. These blinds have made a huge difference to the teaching done in the classrooms because the teachers were having enormous difficulty seeing their interactive whiteboards with the previous blinds which were not appropriate black-out blinds. Thanks to all of you and to the Parents’ Association for paying for these blinds from the various funds raised throughout the past year. Your support and voluntary contributions are of great benefit to the smooth running of your child’s school and to the level of comfort and happiness experienced by each child in my care. Thank you all again.
There will be a few fundraising activities organised during the next number of weeks to help the family of a little girl called Lucy Leahy. Lucy is not attending our school but she has family and friends who are. There is a special FaceBook page set up called LucyLou. Poor Lucy is gravely ill and I know that the children of Kilmacanogue National School are always so kind and generous in helping out those who are having difficulties. Noah Dixon in 4th Class will be helping to organize these activities. Thanks Noah.
Seachtain na Gaeilge is a little late starting this year in Kilmacanogue National School……ach beimid ag iarraidh an Ghaeilge a labhairt i rith na seachtaine agus ag imirt spóirt agus ag damhsa. Ceol, Caint agus Craic!! Bainaigí taitneamh asti!
There will be no school on Monday 23rd April because all the teachers will be attending an obligatory curriculum workshop day. Apologies for any inconvenience.
And now for Miss Murray’s joke……. 
What do you call a boomerang that doesn’t work?…….A stick!!!
