WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER MAY 9th 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope that you all had a lovely few days enjoying the sunshine. Summer is certainly in the air and it would be very important that the children wear protective sun cream during the very hot days.

Congratulations to all the boys and girls on the quality of their handwriting. I hope that you have had a chance to look at the great work they have done. The independent assessors found it very difficult to pick winners from all the classes. They were particularly impressed with the standard of writing from our Junior and Senior Infants, 1^st and 2^nd Classes. Also, the quality of handwriting from 6^th Class was truly amazing. In truth, everyone was a winner. Toby Wainwright Smith and Beibhinn Lavery from 3^rd Class as well as Niamh Kelly and Luke Honan from 4^th Class along with Abigail Bryan and Oran Phillips from 5^th Class were specifically mentioned by the judges. Well done again everyone, keep up the good work.

The Irish Dancing Classes on Tuesday as well as the Yoga Classes on Friday are going very well and the children are really enjoying them. Remember they cost only €1 for each lesson which is very good value.

A big thank you to Katie Mae Dunne from 5^th Class who raised over €30 for little Lucy Leahy. While the rest of us were relaxing over the Bank Holiday weekend, Katie Mae was fundraising by selling her own beautiful pictures. Thanks Katie Mae.

The referendum vote will be taking place in the school, so there will be no school on Friday May 25^th. June 1^st and June 4^th will also necessitate school closure for the Bank Holiday.

As I mentioned in last week’s Newsletter, I am busy at the moment meeting every single child’s parent/guardian throughout the school. My door is always open to all the children as well as to you the parents. If there is anything at all of concern to you, please let me know. Remember I cannot help you if you do not come to me and let me know. With your assistance, I want to make Kilmacanogue National School the very best that it can be. Together, we can move mountains!
