KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER JUNE 27th 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe it but this newsletter is the very last one for the school year 2017/2018. The time seems to have flown by these past few months.

On Tuesday, our wonderful 6th Class boys and girls put on a great display of entertainment at their Graduation Concert. The talent on show was excellent. Well done everyone. Special word of thanks to Ms Montgomery and Ms Redmond for all their hard work in organising everything. Thanks also to the wonderful support from the Parents’ Association, and all the parents who do so much for the school. You are so very much appreciated.

Thanks to the Parents’ Association again for organising the sponsored walk which raised €3385.10 and there is still more being brought back to the school! Fantastic response. Thank you all again.

Attached with this newsletter are the booklists for each of the classes as well as insurance details should you wish to avail of them. The names of who your child’s class teacher will be in August 2018, is also on the booklist.

Sadly we have to say a few goodbyes to some of our colleagues. Sincere best wishes and thanks to: Kate McManamon, Janet Redmond and Caitriona Nic Giolla Eoghain (visiting teacher). Thank you so very much for all the incredible work you have done throughout the years and for the wonderful colleagues you have been. We will miss you very much but please know that there will always be a welcome for you here in Kilmacanogue National School.

Sadly too we must bid farewell to our Deputy Principal Susan Barry, who will be retiring. Mrs Barry has been a wonderful member of staff and has enriched the lives of literally hundreds of students during her years at Kilmacanogue National School. Words are completely inadequate at moments such as these……all we can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Everyone is welcome to attend the very special ‘Do’ for Mrs Barry taking place in the school hall at 8pm tomorrow, Thursday June 28th. Looking forward to seeing you all for the Party!

On my own behalf, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every member of staff, parent and child of Kilmacanogue National School. It has been an honour to have served my first year as Principal of this beautiful school. I look forward to the wonderful years ahead of us, working together as a team, continuing the great work already done by those who have gone before us and have left each of us such a precious legacy as Kilmacanogue National School

MÍLE BUÍOCHAS GO LÉIR

Best wishes always,

Niamh Murray  (Principal)
