WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER JUNE 26th 2019     

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

And so at last this is the final Wednesday Newsletter for the school year 2018/2019. Where has this past year gone?? What a wonderful year it has been with all the exciting events and activities taking place in the school throughout the year from the various concerts such as the Laudate and Peace Proms’ Concerts to the various Christmas Shows. From the Christmas School Fair with Santa’s Grotto to the wonderful Communion and Confirmation Ceremonies. From the Green Schools’ activities to all the Sporting Competitions to do with Cumann na mBunscol as well as the Tony Lawlor Trophy and the Wicklow Sports where the children did so well and triumphed in the Tug of War! From the beautiful day spent walking on the Sponsored Marathon Walk to the memorable first ever annual Fun for all Sports’ Day with bouncy castle and ice-cream van! From the Whizzkids’ computer course to the Roald Dahl dress up day to the fabulous end of year Graduation Performance presented last night by our amazing 6th Class young adults who are about to spread their wings and journey off into the next phase of their exciting future where their Secondary Schools will open lots more doors for each of them.

So many people need to be thanked for all of this great work and positivity. Our wonderful Parents’ Association who have been amazing, thank you. To all the ladies who help out with the school library, thank you so much. To our dedicated secretaries Siobhan and Fiona who do so much for all of us and always with a ready smile and a laugh, thank you. To our very obliging school caretaker Kevin and to Colm and  Ann our school cleaners who keep the school looking spick and span, thank you. To our excellent Board of Management who help steer the school ship, so to speak, thank you. To our wonderful Deputy Principal, Ann-Marie Bourke and to all our very hard-working and committed teachers who always have the very best interests of the children at the heart of everything they do, thank you so much. A huge thanks to the totally fantastic children of Kilmacanogue National School……….you are the best children in Ireland and we are so very lucky to have you in our school. Finally, to each and every person who has helped make Kilmacanogue National School such a lovely, wholesome place, full of joy and laughter for all the children, a thousand thank yous. Míle buíochas go léir.

A little bit of house-keeping. Attached to this Wednesday Newsletter is the booklist and insurance information for each child. School will re-open on Thursday August 29th when you can sort out any payment. Also, information has already been sent out regarding the keyboard music classes for groups beginning on Tuesdays next September, and the piano lessons for individuals beginning on Wednesdays, dates to be confirmed when school re-opens. Please contact the organisers directly if interested. Hannah Dunford will be starting back with her lovely yoga classes also in September as well Rachel and her Hip-Hop classes and so too will Eva and her Art Classes.

And now for Miss Murray’s final joke of the school year 2018/2019.

Why can’t your head be 12 inches long???…….Because then it would be a foot!!!
