Wednesday Newsletter September 26th 2018

KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 26th 2018

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

Well, the end of September is upon us already, and thankfully our first month back to school has been very positive and happy, even the weather hasn’t been too unfavourable! But as the days are getting colder, please could I ask that the children wear their coats to school, and of course please make sure that all clothing is clearly labelled with your child’s name. Thank you for your support in this.

John Lonergan, the former Governor of Mountjoy Prison, will be coming to the school next Thursday October 4th at 7:30pm, and as already mentioned in other newsletters, his talk will be based on ‘The Rewards and Challenges involved in Parenting in 2018’, and if you have any questions you would like put to John, please leave them into the school office for him. I am looking forward to the evening, which will be full of good humour and affirming advice.

A reminder to all those who have yet to pay for Book Rental, Art, Insurance etc, please do so asap. Thanks again for your support in this.

Our Monday Morning assemblies are going very well and it is great to hear all the exciting things that the children are getting up to, from their achievements on the sport’s field to the play dates they have had over the previous weekend! Keep the news coming!

The after school activities are starting again, with Hip Hop on Monday, Yoga on Tuesday and Art Classes on Thursday. There will be more in the months to follow.

Our wonderful school library will restart next Wednesday, October 3rd. A letter is attached to this newsletter with the details. Thanks to all the ladies who were involved in helping out with the library last year and a special word of thanks to Sinead Minto and Michelle Hall for all their work and support.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful Parents/Guardians here in Kilmacanogue, and as Principal, I cannot begin to thank you all for your support. It means so much and adds enormously to the well-being of your children and to the management of the school in general.

The Senior Classes of 3rd up to 6th, are enjoying the Yoga/Mindfulness sessions with Maura Broaders on Friday….the lovely feeling of calm and relaxation is permeating the school!

And now……..Miss Murray’s joke! What do you call a fake noodle?…..An impasta!!!
