It is all systems go here in Kilmacanogue National School with all the boys and girls so happy and working so hard and behaving so well…..it is as if they never left the school for the summer!! Well done everyone, keep up the great work.
Next Sunday, September 16th, there will be a Blessing of the School Bags taking place in Kilmacanogue Church, St. Mocheanóg, at 10am for the children especially our Junior Infants. Last year this event was a very special occasion and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible with your school bags who are free to attend this lovely ceremony.
Attached to this letter is a prayerful challenge for families following on from the recent visit of Pope Francis to Ireland and the World Meeting of Families which took place in the RDS over the summer. The challenge is based on the 30-day calendar to pray a prayer each day with your family. Give it a go!
Well done to all our Junior Infants who are settling in so well. The Junior Infants’ Parents’ meeting will take place on Wednesday September 19th at 8pm in the school hall.
A reminder to all those who have yet to pay for Book Rental, Art, Insurance etc, please do so asap. Regarding the Insurance, on the back of this newsletter is the Insurance Form, in case any of you have mislaid the original. I would sincerely encourage you to take out insurance for your child, it is always better safe than sorry……accidents do happen and children will be children. Due to popular demand John Lonergan, former Governor of Mountjoy Prison, will be coming to Kilmacanogue National School on October 4th at 7:30pm to give a talk on ‘The Rewards and Challenges involved in Parenting in 2018’. He is a most accomplished speaker full of good advice and humour as well as being very down to earth. I promise you a most entertaining evening. There should be a nice gathering with an audience coming from Kilmacanogue, Curtlestown, Enniskerry and Delgany. Needless to say there will be tea/coffee/cakes/biscuits/treats!!!
And now……..back due to unprecedented demand…….Miss Murray’s joke!!!
