KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2ND 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians and of course Boys and Girls,

October has certainly landed with a bang, with lots of rain and cold weather as well as the exciting prospect of Storm Lorenzo! Everyone is settling in very well and our Junior Infants are beginning to adjust to ‘Big School.’ It normally takes a few weeks before they settle fully, so don’t be worried. If you have any concerns about any of your children, remember that you can always talk to the class teachers or to me, the Principal.

Over the next few weeks and months, the children from 3rd up to 6th will be participating in the various sports’ activities including GAA and Camogie. The health and well-being of everyone especially of each child is so important and of course regular exercise is vital for a child’s well-being and overall development.  Well done to the boys from 5th and 6th Classes for playing with great success at Bray Emmets last Thursday. As I always say, the important thing is to enjoy the games and to do the best that you can.

Our Monday morning assemblies are always very interesting and this week the children heard a little story about a young girl whose dream it was to be a professional footballer. She never gave up and in spite of being mocked by some unkind children, she achieved her ambition. The moral of the story was that when you work hard and ignore those who would mock you, you can reach your goal and be whatever you want to be.

Preparation Mass for First Holy Communion’s 2nd Class will take place at 10:00 am in St. Mochonog’s Church, Kilmacanogue this coming Sunday, October 6th. The date for First Holy Communion will be May 16th 2020.

And now for Miss Murray’s joke.

Why aren’t dogs good dancers?………Because they have 2 left feet!!!
