WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 7TH 2018 
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back everyone, I hope that you all had a lovely mid-term break. It was great welcoming the children back to school and hearing all their news at assembly on Monday morning.
There is always something new and exciting going on in Kilmacanogue National School and this week is all about Friendship. Thanks to Ms Denvir for organising all the activities such as setting goals to be a friend, building and painting Buddy Benches as well as watching the BFG! Our quote for the week is: ‘The only way to have a friend is to be one.’ The children coloured in and cut out beautiful flowers and attached them to our Friendship Tree on the wall by the PE hall entrance. Please call into see them.
Kilmac GAA are hosting a coffee morning this coming Friday November 9th from 9:30am to 3:00pm in the GAA hall in aid of Bray Lakers. If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation or provide home-baking please contact Jackie Fox (086 8494655) or Melanie Lee (086 4086597). Friday November 9th will be non-uniform day for the children and a donation of €2 for this very worthwhile cause would be much appreciated. Thank you all so much.
Unfortunately, we have unwelcome visitors in our school at the moment! Head lice have returned! Please, please check your child’s hair regularly and wash with the appropriate shampoo on an ongoing basis.
Also, there have been a few reported cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. This is extremely contagious. If your child is showing any signs of this virus, it is absolutely imperative that you keep them at home. Details of the condition are on the back of this sheet and can be downloaded from the HSE website: www.hse.ie.
Colm Gaskin is back again for the next number of weeks to teach GAA skills to 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes. It is always great to have Colm in the school and the children really enjoy his training sessions. The remaining classes will enjoy his training sessions in the New Year. Special thanks to Ryan Lavery for all the footballs donated to the school as well as for all his help.
A special fund-raising Christmas Fair for the school will take place in the school hall on December 2nd after 10:00am Mass. There will be lots of stalls containing arts and crafts and food produce. Any help would be gratefully appreciated along with any donations for the raffle. More information in next week’s letter.
Order forms for Christmas Annuals will be going home with your children today. Please return asap.
