WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 28th 2018

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

Here are the dates of the various Christmas Plays/Services taking place in the school during December:

First Class:                  Tuesday December 18th

Second Class:              Tuesday December 18th

Junior Infants:        Wednesday December 19th

Senior Infant x 2:   Wednesday December 19th

Fifth Class:             Wednesday December 19th    (Carol Service in the Church at 7pm)

Sixth Class:            Wednesday December 19th

Please check with each class teacher regarding the actual time of your child’s Christmas Play/Service. Third and Fourth Classes are very much involved in rehearsing for the Peace Proms’ Concert taking place early next year 2019. As a result they will not be involved in Christmas Plays/Services this year but will be performing a Springtime Play………something to look forward to!

It’s all systems go for our first ever Christmas Fair in the school which will take place in the school hall on December 2nd after 10:00am Mass. There will be lots of stalls containing arts and crafts and food produce. A little birdie told me that Santa will be there in his lovely grotto….so please come along.

As mentioned last week, Kate Flynn will be calling to the school on Thursday, November 29th to chat to the children about a lovely charity called the Burren Chernobyl Nappy Project. If a packet of nappies could be thrown in to the shopping basket and brought to the school for this little charity, that would be wonderful.

A special word of thanks to the boys and girls from Fifth Class who formed a guard of honour yesterday to welcome the remains of a wonderful lady called Kathleen Bradshaw to St Mochonog’s Church. She had been sacristan in the church and her family are very closely associated with Kilmacanogue National School. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kathleen’s family. May her dear soul rest in peace RIP.

A little reminder to the boys and girls of our school motto taken from our 6 Golden Rules:

If it’s not nice, don’t do it; if it’s not nice, don’t say it.

Well done to all our wonderful children who do the very best they can to remember this.

And now…….joke time!

What do you get when you cross a caterpillar with a parrot?…….A walkie-talkie!!
