WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 15th
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is that time of the year when the joyous strains of children singing are to be heard throughout the school. There are lots of rehearsals going on in preparation for all the concerts, plays and carol services. A little birdy told me that the Junior Infants are preparing a really special Christmas Musical Performance……
I can’t wait!
The new path up to the school is almost finished and everyone has remarked on the difference which it has made. Once again, thanks to everyone who helped complete this important project, including Marrakesh Ltd and Sugarloaf Concrete Products.
The orders for the Christmas Annuals from Folens are due in the next few days. If you would like to purchase any, please fill out the form fully which has been given to your child and return it with €4 by Monday November 20th to the class teacher. There is no obligation to buy any.
Thanks to Sinead Minto and the Parents’ Association for organising the Children’s Christmas Cards, they look amazing and will make lovely, unique cards this season.
We are so lucky to have kind, thoughtful young people, such as Catherine Henry, in Kilmacanogue National School. She is organising a series of fund-raising activities such as quizzes and colouring competitions for Temple Street Children’s Hospital which will take place over the next few weeks throughout the school. More information next week.
Lots of fun activities have been taking place in the school, from the GAA football to the performance given by ‘Down to Earth Theatre Company’. Hip, hop classes have started in the school every Monday as part of the after school activities.
On Tuesday, I was treated to some lovely music from Summer Kavanagh, Finn Kelly (who played the guitar) Tony Prendergast (who sang ‘In Dublin’s Fair City’), Evan Wiley, Alana Murray and Reuben Wainwright Smith who are involved in the cubs. They went to the Parish Centre where they met our senior citizens and treated them to chat and music. A lovely experience for the young and ‘young at heart’.
Don’t forget about Mass next Sunday at 10am November 19th in Kilmacanogue Parish Church, for those preparing for Confirmation. I look forward to seeing you there.
