Dear Parents/Guardians,
Well hasn’t there been a change in the weather……where has the promise of a lovely summer gone?? The children have all been very busy completing their tests and I know that they have done their very best and that is the only thing that matters. We hope to get the report cards out in the next couple of weeks as well as the booklists.
There were some lovely photos in the Bray People of our Second Class children on the day of their First Holy Communion…….check it out if there are any papers left!
The class tours are up and running now and for the next few weeks the school will seem very quiet indeed with so many children enjoying their trips away from school.
Our New Primary Language Curriculum Planning day for the teachers which took place last Monday May 27th was very successful and the focus for the school will be the Oral Language section of the Curriculum with emphasis on Comprehension for our School Self-Evaluation. Thanks to our Deputy Principal, Ms Ann Marie Bourke, for all her hard work in this area. We shall keep you all updated regarding this, because as always, input from you, the parents/guardians of the children we teach, is so very important and much appreciated.
Ella Hammond will be undertaking a 2 day hike of two stages of the Wicklow Way at the end of June in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is such a wonderful charity for terminally ill children. She has planned a very special fun day for June 11th called Summer T-Shirt…..so guess what the children can wear that day?? There will also be ice pops on hand in an effort to fund-raise for this charity. As always, the children of Kilmacanogue National School are so very good and kind, and Ella wants everyone to know that no one is under any pressure at all to contribute to the charity, but if the boys and girls would like to, then perhaps a nominal donation of €2 would be much appreciated. Well done Ella, you are great.
Please keep up the good work and do the necessary of shampooing your child’s hair with the appropriate shampoo and checking regularly that the pesky little nits are eradicated!
Remember that this coming Friday May 31st and Monday 3rd June the school will be closed for the June Bank Holiday.
And now for Miss Murray’s joke.
Why does the letter ‘A’ look like a flower?…..Because a ‘B’ always comes after it!!
