KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER

MARCH 10th 2021

A Thuismitheoirí, a Bhuachaillí agus a Chailiní,

Conas atá sibh go léir?

Táimid ag baint taitneamh as Seachtain na Gaeilge. Tá na páistí ag éisteacht le ceol na hÉireann agus tá said ag damhsa freisin agus ag déanamh iarracht an Ghaeilge a labhairt.

Maith sibh go léir.

Seo cúpla sean fhocal (A couple of Proverbs)

Ní mar a shíltear a bhítear: Things are not always what they seem

Muineann gá seift: Necessity is the mother of invention

Aithníonn ciaróg ciaróg eile: It takes one to know one

We are half way through our Seachtain na Gaeilge and everyone is doing the very best they can to speak Irish as well as doing Irish Dancing and listening to Irish Music….well done everyone.

This morning all the children listened to the lovely Irish song,  Beidh Aonach Amárach i gContae an Chláir sung by John Spillane from Cork, well known singer of Irish songs. Everyday at 11:45pm the whole school will sit back and relax for 5 minutes while a piece of Irish music is played over the intercom for Seachtain na Gaeilge.

Thanks to Eva Hogan, our very artistic SNA, who has put up some lovely displays for Seachtain na Gaeilge throughout the school. Thanks so much also to Mrs McCormack for organising the resources and distributing them. Míle buíochas!

Next Monday, March 15th, we will be welcoming back our wonderful boys and girls of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes. We have missed you all and cannot wait for your return.

To make things easier, and for quarantine purposes in-line with COVID-19 protocols, all boxes with books must be returned tomorrow before the children start back to school on Monday so as to allow 72 hours quarantine time. Ideally, could you arrive between 10am and 1pm tomorrow because children will be entering and leaving school outside of those times.

If these times do not suit you, please let the school know on 01 2861934 and of course we will try our best to accommodate you.

As the boxes are quite heavy, please feel free to drive right up to the front door of the school with the boxes, CAREFULLY, and leave them in at the front door where they will be collected and left back to your child’s classroom.

Also, the Return to School Declaration Form MUST be signed and returned to the school before any child is allowed into the school building. This is mandatory. The form has already been emailed out to you and I will email it again. There will also be a form at the front door of the school tomorrow which you can fill out there and then to make life easy for you

Thanks for your understanding in this regard.

It is still very chilly these days and as the children will be playing outside as much as possible, make sure that they are all wrapped up warmly coming to school especially as the classroom windows and doors will be open throughout the school for extra ventilation.
