KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER JUNE 5TH 2019

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe but we are in the very last month of the school year 2019. There is so much going on at the moment with all the school tours and end of year tests and reports and all the various exciting activities and sporting events.

Attached to this newsletter are the Sponsorship cards for the Kilmacanogue National School Parents’ Association Fun Walk Fund Raiser! This is always a fantastic day of fun organised by our wonderful P/A and will take place on June 14th. The funds raised will go towards completing the library as well as upgrading the storage facilities of the classrooms.

As mentioned last week, Ella Hammond will be undertaking a 2 day hike of two stages of the Wicklow Way at the end of June in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation. She has planned a very special fun day in school for June 11th which she is calling Summer Fun for Everyone! The children will be allowed wear fun T-Shirts on this day and there will be ice pops on hand in an effort to fund-raise for this charity. A donation of €2 would be much appreciated.

Congratulations to Beth Pepper who won First Place in the Celtic Academy Irish Dancing Championships. Well done Beth, you are so talented. Indeed, we are so very lucky having such wonderfully talented children in Kilmacanogue National School, with each and every child having great skills and accomplishments.

Our wonderful, very active Parents’ Association, under the leadership of Lisa Dempsey, with support from her great team of Linda Giles, Liz Cafferkey, Liz Driver, and Sonia Draper, has organised a lovely evening in the Harbour Bar on June 14th starting at 8pm and featuring live music and finger food and a raffle. It promises to be a great night of merriment and entertainment. Tickets are €20 and are available from the P/A or through the school office.

At the back of this newsletter is the calendar for 2019/2020. See also the school website…..www.kilmacschool.ie

The Junior Infants’ Open Night for incoming infants with their Parents/Guardians will take place in the school next Tuesday June 11th at 6pm until 7:30pm. I very much look forward to meeting everyone. There may even be tea and coffee and orange juice and biscuits on the night!

And now for Miss Murray’s joke.

What do you call 4 bullfighters sinking in mud??……Quattro sinko!!
