KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL
WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER JUNE 12th 2019
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We had a wonderful evening last night in the school with the incoming Junior Infants and their parents. The children are so very excited about starting ‘Big School’ in the Autumn. Thanks to Mr Hurley for organising the lovely activities in his room for the children, they had a great time. Thanks to the P/A for all their help in providing the treats and teas and coffees.
Well done to Ella Hammond and her group of helpers; Aoibhe, Zoë, Isobel, Béibhínn, Ellie, Nora and Ríona. ‘The Summer Fun for Everyone’ wearing their colourful T-Shirts was a great success yesterday as were all the ice-pops in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation. The sum of €520 was raised by the children of Kilmacanogue National School. You are all FANTASTIC!!
This Friday, June 14th, the Parents’ Association will hold its Annual Sponsored Walk for the school, WEATHER PERMITTING! Please ensure that your child is wearing sun-cream, hats and Hi-Viz jackets if they have them. Tracksuits and runners of course will the best form of clothing.

This will be very casual and is open to any parents or grandparents or other family members who happen to be free to come along. Bring a picnic!! Lots of water will be needed and remember to get the children to wear their tracksuits and runners, sun cream and hats. Hopefully the sun will shine brightly!!
Last year’s 6th Class will come to the school tomorrow to compete in different events, WEATHER PERMITTING! They will be competing against this year’s 6th Class……so the battle lines are drawn!!
Tuesday, June 18th, will see the last of our school tours when 2nd Class will head to ‘Squirrels’ Scramble’ in Kilruddery Estate, leaving the school at 9:30am and returning at 1:45pm…..the squirrels better watch out!!!
The reports and booklists will be sent out in the next week. Please could you send a stamped addressed envelope in with your child asap. Fiona and Siobhán would be very grateful as it will ease their heavy workload at this time of the year. Thanks for you understanding and support.
