    KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

    WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER JANUARY 23rd 2019

     Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Parent/Teacher meetings are in full flight all this week and I am sure that you are delighted with all the good things your child’s teacher had to say. Remember that if you are ever concerned about anything at all, the class teacher is always there to be of help as am I, so please do come to us for help at any stage. We may not always get it perfect but we will always do our very best for your child/children.

On Monday, many of the children from 2nd and 5th Classes attended the rehearsal for the ‘Laudate Festival Concert’ which will take place in the Church of St Therese, Mount Merrion on Wednesday January 30th at 7:00pm. Several of the organisers came over to talk to me about how well the children of Kilmacanogue National School behaved and sang. Well done everyone, I am so proud of you. The concert will only last about one hour and 15 minutes and the coach will collect the children from the school at 5:30pm and return them after the concert, estimated arrival back to school at 8:45pm.

WhizzKids, the computer course, will start this Friday January 25th and will last for ten weeks for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes.

The booster vaccinations for the Junior Infants took place in the school earlier today, Wednesday, and I must say that the Junior Infants were fantastic and full of bravery and so well behaved!

Food Dudes is well underway for our Junior and Senior Infants as well as for 1st Class and the Senior Classes will commence tomorrow, Thursday for the next 8 days. It is lovely sampling all the various fruit and vegetables such as bananas, peppers, grapes, babycorn, cucumber, apples, carrots and oranges and indeed the children have been very good at tasting everything. Well done everyone.

Cumann na mBunschol for 3rd and 4th Class girls will take place in Shoreline, Greystones tomorrow during school.

Just a reminder about the preparation Mass for First Holy Communion which will take place this coming Sunday in Kilmacanogue Church at 10:00am.

Also this coming Sunday, January 27th after 10:00am Mass in Kilmacanogue, the Community First Responders will be in the Parish Hall for a ReStartaHeart CPR and Defibrillation demonstration. You never know when you might need this skill. Refreshments will be served!

    And finally, Miss Murray’s joke.

Why wasn’t Cinderella any good at soccer?………She kept running away from the ball!!!

    Niamh Murray (Principal)
