WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 6th 2019 
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Tá an t-Earrach anseo agus tá na bláthanna agus na plandaí ag fás. Lá Fhéile Bríde was on February 1st heralding the start of spring and there were some wonderful St Brigid Crosses made by the children on display throughout the school. Hopefully the warm weather will return soon!
Our Green School’s Committee wants to remind everyone to bring in any used batteries. They have quite a collection already! Not only does it help protect the environment but it helps fundraise for the LauraLynn Foundation……so well done everyone and thanks. We now have some lovely new Green Notice Boards in the school foyer to display the Green School’s Activities.
The Laudate Festival Concert and the Peace Prom’s Concert took place last week and at both, the children of Kilmacanogue National School were superb. The amount of work that goes in to all the teaching, learning, rehearsing and organising of these events for the children by the teachers, is enormous and I want to thank all the teachers involved especially, Mrs Whelan and Ms Lynch for their work regarding the Peace Prom’s Concert and to Ms O’Gorman and Ms Quiney for their involvement and support in the Laudate Festival Concert. Thanks to Colm Gaskin who is teaching GAA skills each Wednesday to the boys and girls of 5th and 6th Classes. Please could all the children bring in their gum shields.
The Dental Nurse called to see the children of 3rd and 5th Classes and was very taken by their knowledge of dental hygiene as well as by their respect and mannerly behaviour! Once again, I am so very proud of all the children, who constantly show respect for those around them as well as encouraging everyone to be the very best that they can be.
The Diocesan Advisors are calling to the school this coming Friday, February 8th, and I know that the children will impress them with all their prayers and songs and all the information they have learned throughout the year in their Religion Class.
This coming Monday, February 11th, in the Parish Hall, Kilmacanogue, the Retreat for 6th Class will be taking place.
And finally, Miss Murray’s joke.
