KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER

FEBRUARY 24th 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians and of course Boys and Girls,

Hip, hip hurray!! The kids are back in school!! Well nearly all the kids! So, at last it is official that Monday March 1st will see the return to school of the Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st Class and two 2nd Classes! It won’t be too long before we have all the children back in Kilmacanogue National School. We are all like a big happy FAMILY. Even this little monkey in the picture couldn’t contain his happiness at the good news!!

It was lovely seeing everyone via ZOOM earlier today, Wednesday. The boys and girls have all grown up so much. We are all so excited at the thought that we will see you this coming Monday. There will be lots of great times ahead of us now as we look forward to the lovely weather and the fun and games we will enjoy!! Children, you may continue to wear your tracksuits if you wish because you will be out of doors a lot, playing!

Ms Denvir is also incredibly excited at the thought of welcoming everyone back to school on Monday and she is so full of great ideas as usual. This little note is from her and her Green Schools’ Team:

A note from the Green Schools’ Team:

Let’s do a bit for the environment and ourselves this week. Normally we encourage Walk On Wednesdays or WOWs days. This is where we encourage you to walk to school or part of your way to school. However, this year we are encouraging you to Walk On Wednesdays for Wellness or #WOWsforWellness. So get on Twitter and tweet a photo of you walking for wellness, with the hashtag #WOWsforWellness to @kilmacanoguens (the school’s twitter account)

Congratulations to Éabha Conti from 5th Class who read from ‘All to Play For’ by Donn McClean on Today FM last weekend. You are FANTASTIC Éabha, well done. I am looking forward to hearing all about it when you return to school very soon.

Remember to fill out the Return to School Form which was emailed to you for those children returning to school this Monday. Also, please return your child’s box of books to school tomorrow, Thursday, between 10am and 2pm so that they may be quarantined and all good to go for Monday March 1st.

We will be all doing our best to adhere to HSE and gov.ie guidelines and wearing our face masks throughout the school and in the school grounds. If any one is feeling unwell, child or adult, it is best to stay at home and get better.

Together we will overcome this pandemic and before we know it, it will be done and dusted and everything will be better than ever!!

Please let me or any member of staff know if we can help you any way, or if you are concerned about anything.

WE ARE ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN.

And now for Miss Murray’s joke!

What season is it when you are on a trampoline!!……..Spring-time!!

Take care everyone, stay safe and remember ALL WILL BE WELL

Miss Niamh Murray (Principal)
