WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 5TH 2018 
Dear Parents/Guardians,
WELCOME BACK EVERYBODY! It is fantastic to see all the boys and girls of Kilmacanogue National School looking so happy, so well presented and so grown up after the beautiful summer we have just had. Our usual balloons greeted everybody as they returned to school!!
A huge welcome to all our Junior Infant boys and girls. We are delighted that you are now part of the family that is Kilmacanogue National School. You have settled in so quickly, I cannot believe that you have only started ‘big school’. The Junior Infants parents’ meeting will take place on Wednesday September 19th at 8pm in the school hall.
I hope that you all enjoy the work which was carried out in the school during the holidays: several classes and their toilets were painted white: the PE hall was painted white: new tables and chairs were installed in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes: the CCTV was upgraded: most of the exterior of the school was painted white. Thanks to the parents who gave of their time on the Thursday evenings over the summer. Your help has meant so much to the school.
A reminder for parents regarding their children wearing jewellery. Only watches are permitted to be worn. It would be lovely to let the children wear earrings but already there has been a minor incident and so it is very important that no earrings be worn at all during the school day. If a child has difficulty removing their earrings from recently pierced ears, please put a plaster over their earrings. They will have to remain indoors and will be unable to participate in any sports. Sorry about this, but it is for the health and safety of the children.
Here are the PE days for each of the classes when the children will need to wear their tracksuits: Junior Infants: Tuesday and Thursday
Senior Infants Mrs King: Thursday and Friday
Senior Infants Mrs Wolohan: Tuesday and Friday
First Class: Monday and Thursday
Second Class: Tuesday and Thursday
Third Class: Monday and Wednesday
Fourth Class: Tuesday (double lesson)
Fifth Class: Tuesday and Thursday
Sixth Class: Monday and Wednesday
The Junior Classes from Infants to Second are really enjoying playing on the Astro Pitch for little break, 11:00-11:10am. They love the soft feel of the ground as they run around.
I know that this next year is going to be a fantastic year and most importantly, remember if you are ever worried about anything, please come to talk to me and all will be well.
