KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL
WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER JANUARY 31st 2018
Dear Parents and Guardians,
How quickly the days are flying by…..I hope that each and every one of you had beneficial meetings with your child’s class teacher last week and of course we will be following up on any issues that may have arisen.
As you can see, we have a lovely school logo and from now on it will be appearing on all our correspondence to do with the identity of the school. Check out our website as well, which has the logo and is being updated with policies and photographs and lots of information. Huge thanks are due to Seán O’Connor for all his work in setting up our website and the logo.
Garda Adam Nolan came to the school during the week to talk about cyber bullying and it was most illuminating. As always, I ask that all parents/guardians monitor their children’s use of any aspect of the internet. The use of mobile phones by children is prohibited in Kilmacanogue National School. All forms of bullying are TOTALLY unacceptable.
Tonight, 3rd and 4th Classes will be singing their hearts out in the Laudate Festival Concert in the Church of the Guardians Angels, Newtownpark Ave. It should be a lovely evening of music and reflection. All are welcome and admission is free. The concert will start at 7pm and is due to finish at 8.15pm.
Thank you to everyone for taking on board the importance of letting the school and the class teacher know whether or not your child will be late or absent. Also, notes should be written to the class teacher giving details of late attendance or absence, along with notes outlining reasons for keeping your child in from the yard, if such is the case.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Voluntary Contribution……every little bit helps. Over the next number of weeks, you should begin to notice improvements in the classrooms throughout the school, including new blinds, furniture and shelves.
I look forward to getting down to painting the outside walls of the school, especially around the back areas of the school. I know that I can count on the support of all the parents to lend a hand…..many hands, make light work!! Let’s see which class gets their outside wall painted before any other class!!
Just a reminder that the school will be closed for a week for the mid-term break starting Monday February 12th until Friday 16th inclusive. We will see you all back fresh and ready to begin the Easter term on Monday 19th February
And now for a silly joke……What is the biggest ant in the world?……An eleph…ant!!
Best wishes always,
