Members of the Irish Defence Forces came to our school on Monday 9th November. Their job was to give us an Irish flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation. We decorated the school hall in preparation for the visit. It was a very special day. Emma assisted the soldiers in the reading of the proclamation. Corey and Georgia accepted the flag and our copy of the proclamation. Sixth class recited a poem and we all sang our National Anthem. The soldiers answered all of our questions. We look forward to the 1916 celebrations next year.
