KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL
WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER
September 1st 2021
Dear Parents/Guardians and Families,
Welcome back to you, your children, our dedicated teachers, SNAs and the whole school community. I am looking forward very much to continuing to work with Dolores McCormack, our new Deputy Principal (Acting) and all the team. We wish Ms Niamh Murray all the very best as she takes over as Director of Blackrock Education Centre.
Our first day back at school has gone relatively smoothly! This was the very first day of our incoming Junior Infants. They were all so enthusiastic and delighted to be continuing on their educational journey with their new teacher, Ms. Quiney and, indeed, all of us here in Kilmacanogue National School.
As you know, circumstances can change over the summer months or unforeseen circumstances may arise but as a school community we adapt and always do our very best for the children. With this in mind, I am delighted, on behalf of the school community, to welcome two new members to our teaching staff, Ms Sally Burnham who will be teaching 5th Class and Mr Chris O’Farrell who will be teaching 2nd Class. We wish them all the very best as they join our team.
If you have any queries, for example about books or fees, please contact the office where our secretaries, Siobhán and Fiona will help you out (012861934).
The dates for Communion and Confirmation (2nd Classes of 2020/2021 and 6th Class of 2020/2021) have not yet been decided. As soon as we are told them, we will of course let you know.
Please ask your children to wear coats to school as the weather is getting colder and we will be playing outside as much as possible.
Also, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD CONTAINING NUTS IS TO BE BROUGHT INTO SCHOOL DUE TO SEVERE NUT ALLERGIES. Many thanks for your support in this regard.
Also, keep an eye on the school website as it is updated every so often with information and policies as well as updating the Annual Admission Notice section of the Admission Policy. The date for applications to be made to this school will commence October 4th 2021. Absolutely no applications received before this date will be accepted. This is in line with the Admission Policy throughout the country. This information will be posted on the website in a few days. www.kilmacschool.ie
Make contact with me if you have any concerns. I look forward to getting to know you and your children over the coming months.
Warmest best wishes,
Ann Marie
