KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 21st 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians and of course Boys and Girls,

It is the last few days before we have the mid-term break for the Hallowe’en Holiday which will start when school closes this coming Friday until Monday November 2nd. It only seems like yesterday when we returned back to school on September 1st. How time has flown!!

There has been great Hallowe’en Art done by the children throughout the school and there are a few samples from several classes at the end of this newsletter for you to enjoy.

Our wonderful Parents’ Association would like to remind everyone that Funday Friday is Hallowe’en Costume Day and have suggested €2 donation to be brought in on the day and given to the class teacher who will have a large envelope into which the money will be collected. Also, it would be best not to bring any props into school with the costumes such as broomsticks or pirates’ swords etc to avoid items being handled by many hands.

Thanks so much to everyone who is wearing their face masks when children are arriving to school and going home from school and maintaining social distance. It is all really a great help to the whole school community in keeping out COVID-19.

Kilmacanogue National School has the nicest and the kindest children attending the school and Sophia Kinsella in Fourth Class is one such young lady. Sophia is getting her beautiful long hair cut and donating the money raised to the LauraLynn Foundation for the care of very ill children. Well done Sophia you are great ????

The large PVC shed arrived during the week and this will be a great addition to the school in helping us have a place to store all our resources and school equipment. We might even try to set up an outside classroom……weather dependent!!

An explanatory letter will be going home with the children outlining the Reading Eggs and Mathletics’ programmes as well as making sure that the children have their codes, keep an eye out for it.

And now to the Kilmacanogue National School Art Gallery for the week of October
