KILMACANOGUE NATIONAL SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 19th 2018

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

Well it is now official, the Christmas Holidays have arrived and on Friday at noon the children will be leaving the school to enjoy a well-earned rest. The Christmas Plays and Christmas Prayer Services were excellent and I really do not know how the children learned all the words and the songs and the actions.

Congratulations to Ms Ann-Marie Bourke who has been appointed Deputy Principal of Kilmacanogue National School. Ann-Marie has been a huge part of this school for many years and we are delighted for her and look forward to working with her in her exciting new role in the future.

Thanks to everyone who attended the concerts held last weekend in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry. Proceeds from these concerts will go towards various equipment in the school such as IT and PE.

The Elf on the shelf in his hat, has been making appearances all over the school these past few weeks, and he has been reporting back to his colleagues in the North Pole about the excellent behaviour of all the boys and girls. The school received a letter from the Chief-Elf-in-Charge who said that ‘Kilmac School is Snow Cool!’ Santa Claus has been especially impressed and he has written back to all the children who wrote letters to him and posted them in Santa’s post box in the school.

Christmas is all about the birth of the Baby Jesus and the crib in Kilmacanogue Church is really beautiful, if you get a chance drop in to visit it or indeed any Church which has a crib.

Thanks to the Parents’ Association and all our wonderfully supportive parents. You help make your child’s school the very best that it can be and we are all so very grateful. Thanks to all our hard-working teachers for their dedicated work throughout this term. Thanks to our SNAs who are always there to help us out. Thanks also to Siobhan and Fiona who look after all our office needs and lots more! Thanks to Kevin, our caretaker, and Colm and Anne who keep our school so clean and of course major thanks to our amazing boys and girls in Kilmacanogue National School who have been fantastic!

Remember school closes this Friday 21st December at NOON and re-opens on January 7th 2019.

And finally, Miss Murray’s joke.

How did Santa open the front door?……….He used a tur-KEY!!

Have a very happy, blessed and a safe Christmas everyone until we will meet again in 2019.
