WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 8th 2017
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope that you all had a lovely mid-term break and are ready for all the excitement which will be part of this new term as we prepare for Christmas.
I am really looking forward to hearing all the rehearsals for the various concerts, carol services and plays which will be happening throughout the school over the next few weeks. As soon as we know the dates for all the performances, I shall let you know.
The weather has become noticeably colder and although our school is lovely and warm inside with our new heating system, the play areas outside the school are extremely cold and it is very important that all children wear warm coats to school. Children without coats will not be permitted to take part in any outdoor activities including yard time…..it’s just too cold!!
Some parents have been asking about Parent/Teacher meetings which, in the past, have taken place in November. This year, the meetings will take place at the end of January, 2018. I shall confirm exact dates nearer the time. So do not panic!
On December 16th and 17th, I shall be performing in a very special fundraising concert for our school, Kilmacanogue National School, which will take place in Enniskerry Church. Tickets for the Saturday night of December 16th (Kilmacanogue’s Night) can be purchased at the school office. Details are on the back of this letter.
Have you noticed the fabulous new path and handrail leading up from the church car park to our school? I am absolutely thrilled with it. It makes such a difference to the entrance to our school and to the safety of the children. I must say a huge ‘Thank You’ to Marrakesh Ltd with Antonia and Tony Lawlor, as well as to Sugarloaf Concrete Products with Richard Draper for their enormous generosity in repairing the path and adding the lovely handrail and kerb.

There will be GAA Coaching sessions each Wednesday up until the Christmas holidays for our Senior Infants and First Classes, with Second Class starting in the New Year. These will be provided by Ryan Lavery, Kilmacanogue GAA Coaching Officer. The children always love these sessions. Football boots would be an asset but GUM SHIELDS are a necessity.
Christmas Cards designed by the children a few weeks ago will be going on sale shortly, with some lovely art work done by all the great boys and girls of Kilmacanogue National School.
